Darius Bygg & Alltjänst

Darius Bygg & Alltjänst performs everything from groundwork and paving to painting house facades. The company is based in Vallda and is run by Darius Banevicius and his father, Steponas.

An Exclusive Feeling

“Tar… Isn’t that only used on boats”? That was Darius Banevicius’s first reaction when he and his father, Steponas, were commissioned to paint a modern, distemper painted house with Black Tar. Now, they have already painted their second house with wood tar and are happy to talk about how good it looks.

– At first, we thought it was a bit messy and troublesome that it dries slower than some other facade paints. But we quickly realized that there were all the more strengths. Above all, there are not many paints that give such a good-looking result, says Darius Banevicius at Darius Bygg & Alltjänst.
The premiere house in Vallda
A modern single-story house with a sea view in Vallda Sandö thus became the premiere house for Darius and his father when it comes to wood tar. They painted the 226 square meter house twice during the month of May.

– It is important that the weather is good and preferably paint in direct sunlight. Also invest in good quality brushes, be careful throughout the painting and cover surfaces that should not be painted.

“Nice to avoid priming”
After the summer, Darius and Steponas were also commissioned to paint over a red distemper painted house with Red Tar. It was Auson who tipped off the homeowner in Hjuvik about Darius Bygg & Alltjänst after their fine painting work in Vallda Sandö.

“It was really fun to paint with Red Tar Paint as well. Not having to apply a primer is a major advantage of tar paints, and painting over distemper paint gives an especially beautiful result. There’s an exclusive feeling when painting with wood tar,” says Darius.

Our Best Painting Tips:

  1. Pick out fine weather and preferably paint in direct sunlight.
  2. Brush off old paint.
  3. Be extra careful to cover everything that should not be painted.
  4. Invest in good brushes – otherwise they will wear out quickly.
  5. Be incredibly careful throughout the painting.
