Exclusive accommodation in Tuvesvik, Orust
Eight small wooden housing units have been carefully placed on the cliffs of Tuvesvik, with wide views of cliffs and sea. The houses are close together in the same way that villas, boathouses and warehouses are in the Bohuslän landscape. Narrow alleys and light paths bring to mind the fishing village, where the houses are linked together to form pleasant units with a strong sense of community and presence.
The houses are built largely in wood, in keeping with the Bohuslän building tradition. The buildings are clad with standing gray tar-treated wood paneling that makes them blend into the barren rocky landscape.
-The exposed location facing the western sea placed high demands on the materials and workmanship, and the choice of surface treatment for the wood was a challenge. We conducted several studies and looked at several projects to find the perfect treatment. Both from a design point of view but also in terms of durability and maintenance.
-“In the end, we chose Auson tar vitriol because with this product we managed to achieve a natural and even gray color that also emphasizes the natural structure of the wood. The natural wood protection with tar vitriol was a great advantage, which means good wood protection and longer maintenance intervals for the customer.
