Functionalist house painted with Vitriol Pine Tar

The facade is important for the character of the house The house, built in 2016, is close to both nature and the sea. The fact that the plot itself is located on a south-west slope and was quite demanding contributed to the decision to hire architect Christer Wennerholm.

The façade, which is a standing funki-panel, sets a large part of the architect-designed house’s character. The first coat used about 90 liters of tar vitriol.

Tar vitriol is similar to iron vitriol in color but provides better wood protection as the tar soaks into the wood and protects and strengthens it. Other advantages are that you do not need to prime and that pine tar is the wood’s own protection.
