Mobile Sauna Houses

At Årstaviken in Stockholm, these mobile sauna houses stand surrounded by water, nature, and the pulse of the city. Pine Tar Oil Black was chosen for its unique character. Since the buildings are movable, the design has been adapted to function in different locations and varying environments.

The architects behind Folkbastu came into contact with Auson’s products through a previous project where Auson’s Black Tar was used with excellent results. They describe Pine Tar Oil Black as a product with a beautiful luster that is simultaneously dark and subtle. The wood grain is allowed to shine through, creating natural color variations across the facade. They are particularly pleased with the interplay between the color and the light—the facades change throughout the day and seasons, constantly shifting with the surroundings.

They carried out the painting work themselves and describe the product as easy to work with and having a pleasant scent. Soon it will be time for a third sauna with a pitched roof to be painted with Auson Red Tar. We at Auson look forward to that!
