Red cedar Jewert family
In the countryside near the city – there is a difference between red paint and red paint
The Jewert family lives in the countryside, yet close to both civilization and transportation. Vallda is located near the sea and is a protected cultural heritage environment, which places dual requirements on the paint. The architect-designed timber house is a modern interpretation of a traditional Halland farmhouse, making the red color a natural choice. For better or worse, since the most common red paint is a distemper paint that doesn’t withstand weather and wind particularly well.
Anna Jewert explains:
– We live five minutes from Kungsbacka and are also close to the sea. This means that the west side of the house is particularly exposed, and we’ve had to repaint it every three years since we moved in in 2004. We got tired of that and looked for another solution. It was close by, in Kungsbacka!
When we discovered Auson’s red tar paint, we were delighted. Red tar paint is an even more traditional color, and best of all, it can be painted over distemper paint. We’ve just repainted the house with red tar paint and we’re so pleased! First and foremost, it looks really good, but it also has an incredibly pleasant tar scent. And we’re looking forward to not having to repaint constantly. The red tar paint is much more durable. We at Auson couldn’t agree more. The Jewert family’s house in Vallda is beautiful and both modern and traditional. Just like our red tar paint.
