Red-tarred house with white knots
Located in Säve outside Gothenburg, surrounded by cow pastures and only 5 km from the sea, is this beautiful house, painted in traditional red with white corners. The house and garage were built in 2004, and the current owner, Magnus, and his family moved in 2008. They soon realized that they had problems with the south gable, which they had to repaint with distemper paint every other year.
They started looking for a product that could be painted on the red sludge paint and with a similar appearance. Through the jungle drum, they got in touch with an acquaintance who knew that there was Red Tar that would work as desired.
Magnus says that it took two weeks to paint the house and that he is most pleased with the look and the fact that the Red Tar adheres so well to the mud paint.
He also says that the comments he has received on the house since the painting are positive, first “what’s that smell” and then “how nice it will be”!
Which we absolutely agree with, a real “Swedish idyll”!
