The green pearl in the garden
The area in Lerum where the family lives is rural and close to both forest and lake. The plots are large, with houses from different decades and lush, mature gardens. Camilla and Mattias designed and built the tool shed themselves, which is 15 square meters in size. They wanted to make the shed completely monochrome, i.e. all details should be green, everything from windows, roof and sheet metal details.
Initially, we had planned to use distemper paint, they explain, but after some research and advice from a friend who is an architect, we felt that tar paint was a better solution. We also love the scent that reminds us of boatyards and craftsmanship.
They go on to say that they wanted to find a paint that contains a natural wood preservative and found that the green tar paint was both that and beautiful in its color. They have received a lot of praise and even questions about what color it is, many neighbors came by and enjoyed the smell when they painted.
The family is most pleased with the whole. That it became a unique and nice shed with a lot of storage but which also became a visual addition to the garden!
