The spear in the Huddinge forest
The long, narrow gray house is in a scenic location with the forest close by. Pines, spruces and a few deciduous trees coexist on the mountain plot. The house was designed by the renowned architects Jonas Bohlin and Hans Murman. Carpenter Rasmus Larsson, 26, started building his 21-meter-long and 5-meter-wide dream house in his spare time in 2019. The choice to choose tar vitriol for the 200 sqm house was a given. “It’s a nice color, it picks up the nuances in the rock and in the trunks of the pine trees, and it’s a natural and easy to work with raw material,” says Rasmus.
Rasmus also says that they discovered that there were more colors of Auson’s tar paints to choose from when they painted a construction shed with Black Tar, which they were very happy with.
Tar vitriol was purchased and a sample was painted and left outside while the frame of the house was built to see how it developed, the result was that the whole house was painted with the color.
The house was painted in 2 rounds over 3 weekends.
What are you most satisfied with?
-The look and color of the house and the location. I have only received positive comments about the color and that it blends in so well with nature.
What three arguments would you give to someone else thinking about painting with Tar Vitriol?
– It’s a nice color, pine tar is a natural raw material and it’s easy to work with.
