Unpigmented Pine Tar Oil

Wood is the best and most natural material available. At the same time, it is alive and affected by everything that happens around it. Weather and wind, acid rain, insects, mold and rot are examples of things that negatively affect the wood surface. But you can avoid that if you treat with our Tar products. Auson Pine Tar Oil is a thin liquid oil based on Genuine Pine Tar. Auson Pine Tar is the wood’s own protection and consists of various resins and terpenes. Resin is the tree’s natural way of protecting itself against microorganisms and healing damage.

Auson Pine Tar Oil can be used on house facades, decks, garden furniture, docks, and other untreated wood outdoors. It does not flake or turn black over time. Our Tar Products counteract drying and cracking by being both water-resistant and creating a flexible surface that can move in sync with the wood’s natural expansion. They protect the wood from moisture and temperature changes, which reduces the risk of cracks. Our Pine Tar products also provide protection against UV radiation that can dry out the wood.

Depending on the age of the wood, Tar Oil gives a golden/light gray color that fades over time. After exposure to UV radiation and weather, the wood returns to its natural color, while retaining its protective properties. This process can take up to a few months. The pronounced tar smell fades already after a few days and after a few months the smell is barely noticeable.
